I Dreamed I Dream
After our Salon event, guests joined us for an unforgettable conclusion to GASP! at the BYOL event. The event was open to all guests, attendees and students. We promised our guests that this event would not be worth missing and we were right!
All in attendance were blown away by the incredible genre-blending performance of I Dreamed I Dream, a five-piece band from Cork. Consisting of Julie Landers on vocals and drums, Claire Aherne on vocals and bass, Niamh Hayes on keys and Elle Kelleher and Laura Dineen sharing guitar duties, this band draws inspiration from a wide range of musical styles, including shoegaze, dreampop, and classic girl groups.
Since their first gig at Spilt Milk festival in late 2021, IDID have gone on to play with the likes of the Altered Hours and Sinead O’Brien, as well as playing Cork Midsummer Festival and Féile na Gréine. Described by the Evening Echo/Examiner’s Mike McGrath-Bryan as “emerging experimentalists” with a “healthy disregard for musical convention”, IDID are fast becoming one of Ireland's most captivating bands.
Bring Your Own Lunch (BYOL) is a Piquant lunchtime gig series. The BYOL gigs are recorded to create a high quality as-live multi-camera video for the artists. The video of the performance will be available on Piquant’s YouTube on Friday evening.
Previous artists that have performed at Piquant’s BYOL include: Hazey Haze & Citrus Fresh, The Mary Wallopers, Maija Sofia, Naive Ted, His Father's Voice, and Poor Creature
This event was FREE to all, and as always, we encouraged guests to bring their own lunch! We hope that everyone in attendance thoroughly enjoyed a stunning performance by I Dreamed I Dream!
